Five Days in London! Day Three!!

Third day in London! I started the day at Hyde Park and Kensington Garden. Elizabeth told me I had to visit this area of London, that I'd absolutely fall in love. Of course, I'd already fallen in love with the city, but this definitely secured it a place in my heart! I'll spare you my one hundred and ninety photos of the parks, I simply adored it far too much! The fountain and pools showed in the second to photos were lovely. I had stopped for a take away sandwich right away in the morning and ate there. The birds are so friendly when you're eating haha! I had a flock of them keeping me company on my bench as I was eating!

I still can't get over the swans in London... They were really beautiful! And everywhere! There were so many, I couldn't believe it! I've heard they're quite mean so I didn't get too close to them, but they're wonderful to watch from afar.

Elizabeth also had told me I had to find Peter Pan while I was there!! She didn't tell me exactly what she meant when she said Peter Pan, only that he was by the river, and without knowing this sculpture was the sculpture she was speaking of, I was immediately drawn to it when I saw it. Such a sweet work of art, I was so thrilled to see this was Peter!

Can anyone tell I enjoyed seeing the swans there yet? Between Hyde Park, Kensington Garden, and St James's Park, I could spend my life there!! So much to see in each place and so many birds! Even the architecture inside of the parks, the small cottages, the bridges, fences, steps, even the cafes had such great looks to them. The city and the gardens are so old and have so much history to them!! I'm so interested in everything I saw. Who designed it? When was it built? I need to read up on London's history it seems ;)

Speaking of my love of birds.... These two were two of my favorites I saw there! The first I'm not sure of... I believe it's either a mandarine duck or a smew!!! Either way she had the cutest little mohawk. Someone was feeding a bunch of geese and larger birds and here was this little girl hopping in and out of the fray to grab a piece of bread or two! The next is a magpie, more commonly called a Pica Pica in Europe! Cute little buggers, they are super friendly... and very loud!

Just outside the Diana Memorial... I didn't get many great shots of the memorial itself but this sculpture was so elegant, I thought it was very fitting for the princess!

This was part of the memorial. During the spring and summer it turns into a wading pool for kids and their families! Super precious! It looked like such a fun place for a picnic and a day off! I hear the ducks take over the memorial in the fall and winter!

The gates of Buckingham Palace! Adored the gardens and fountain outside the palace! My words simply won't do the building justice so I'll leave my photographs to speak for me!

It was very warm that third day, and sunny too. I was expecting rainy weather all the while I was there so it was a nice surprise! There were people sunbathing on the hills in the garden, I think it must have been the first day in a long time it'd been so sunny, everyone was soaking it up! The building itself was wonderful, guarded by two soldiers day and night. Just outside the building is a phenomenal fountain. I made sure to toss a coin in.... I hear if you throw a penny into a fountain it means you'll return to that spot one day!

Last but not least... That evening I got to see one of the most magical musicals in the world...

Wicked!!!

I've been dying to see this musical!! When I found out how many musicals played all the time in London, I had to go see it. Everything was perfect!! The actresses, their voices, the musicians, the dancing, gosh, I can't express how much I loved it. And I saw it in LONDON!!! I've had the score stuck in my head since I saw it!! Even the interior of the building was Wicked-themed. The lights were all green, there were broomsticks flying above your head, and the bars had smoke machines on the floors. WAY TOO COOL! And of course, the stage was absolutely perfect!! My seat was almost in the back row on the top balcony, but it was still a great sight of the whole stage.

I still get goosebumps thinking about it!! Loved every second of it!
